Montelukast works by blocking substances in the body called leukotrienes. Blocking leukotrienes improves asthma and seasonal allergic rhinitis symptoms. |
 | Ventolin (Salbutamol) is a sympathomimetic (beta agonist) bronchodilator. It works by relaxing the smooth muscle in the airway, which allows air to flow in and out of the lungs more easily.

 | Flovent Aerosol Inhaler (Fluticasone) is used for preventing or reducing the frequency and seriousness of bronchial asthma attacks. |
 | Advair Diskus (FLUTICASONE PROPIONATE + SALMETEROL) is a combination of inhaled drugs that is used to treat asthma and chronic bronchitis. In patients with asthma, the airways (bronchioles) through which air moves in and out of the lungs can be narrowed by accumulation of mucus, spasm of the muscles that surround these airways, or swelling of the lining of the airways due to inflammation. Airway narrowing leads to symptoms of shortness of breath, wheezing, cough and congestion. Medications used in treating asthma include those that open airways, called bronchodilators, and those that reduce inflammation. |
 | Beclovent (BECLOMETHASONE) is a corticosteroid for treating respiratory problems. Beclomethasone therapy helps prevent and control asthma and must be used regularly. Do not confuse this medication with other asthma medications. Beclomethasone will not provide quick, immediate relief if you are having an asthma attack. Generic beclomethasone inhalation aerosols are not yet available. |
